PONGAL CELEBRATION



The Pongal celebration at CMS College of Education was held with great enthusiasm and traditional spirit at 9:35 a.m. The programme began with the auspicious lighting of the vilakku by the respected Principal, symbolizing knowledge and prosperity. This was followed by a warm welcome address that highlighted the importance of Pongal as a harvest festival expressing gratitude to nature, farmers, and the Sun God. The atmosphere was filled with joy as students and staff gathered in traditional attire, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu.
One of the main highlights of the celebration was the traditional Pongal cooking ceremony, where students prepared sweet Pongal in decorated pots amidst cheerful chants of “Pongalo Pongal!” The overflowing pot symbolized abundance and prosperity. The event also featured vibrant cultural programmes including folk dances, songs, and skits that showcased the essence of rural traditions and thanksgiving. The celebration concluded on a happy note, strengthening unity and cultural values among the students and staff.

The baby shower celebration for Aashma and Nithyasree, who have entered their beautiful 7th month of pregnancy, was a heartwarming and memorable event in our college. For the very first time, students came together to celebrate such a special occasion on campus. As part of the traditional ceremony, seven varieties of rice were lovingly prepared and kept before the soon-to-be mothers, symbolizing prosperity, health, and happiness. The ritual of feeding the mothers was carried out with joy and blessings, creating an atmosphere filled with affection and positivity. The celebration became even sweeter as delicious treats like jilebi and Melody candies were distributed to all the student teachers. AYAPPAN KOVIL VISIT CMS College of Education organized a spiritual visit to the sacred Ayyappan Temple with the participation of the Principal, teaching faculty, non-teaching staff, and student teachers. The visit was arranged to seek divine blessings and to strengthen unity among the entire college family. The serene atmosphere of the temple, filled with devotion and prayer, created a sense of peace and positivity. Everyone participated wholeheartedly in the darshan and pooja, making the occasion spiritually enriching and meaningful. The food served was provided directly by the temple as prasadam, which added a special significance to the visit. Sharing the blessed meal together reflected harmony, equality, and togetherness among all members. The visit to the Ayyappan Temple became a memorable experience, leaving everyone with grateful hearts and renewed spiritual energy.
